Statement of need

The AI divide is hardening while the window is still open.

Artificial intelligence is reshaping the economy faster than any technology before it, and access to AI skills and tools is deeply uneven. The communities most exposed to job disruption are the same communities least likely to have the training, mentorship, or capital to move into AI-driven careers.

01 / Connectivity

Gap: 12 points

40% of Black American households lack high-speed home broadband, compared with 28% of White households. In Chicago, Black households are twice as likely to go without.

69%80%

Gap: 11 points

69% of Black and 67% of Hispanic Americans own a desktop or laptop, compared with 80% of White Americans.

Gap: 38 points

95% of adults earning over $100,000 have home broadband. Just 57% of those earning under $30,000 do.

Left unaddressed, these gaps harden into a permanent AI divide.

How the teaching works

One framework. Seven tiers.

Every participant, age ten through sixty and beyond, moves through the same five competencies: AI literacy, prompting and direction, creation, ethics and safety and disclosure, and application. What changes by tier is depth, pace, supervision, and what they walk out holding.

Where we work

More than a dozen states. Four continents.

Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, Washington DC and Maryland, plus communities across Texas, Michigan, Arizona, Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi. Beyond the US, we have trained learners in Canada, London, and South Africa.

Capacity

Incorporated in 2026. It did not start from zero.

IIAII Foundation was founded by a leader with a documented record of delivering AI education at scale, in the same communities the Foundation serves. The curriculum, the teaching model, and the certification pathway have already been built and tested with thousands of learners. Grant funding extends that proven model, free of charge, to the communities that cannot otherwise reach it.

What our learners say

Guenevere Locklear, program graduate

She works full time, is a full-time grandmother, and is approaching sixty.

For her final project she made an AI-generated video, song, and reel honoring her tribe during Native American Heritage Month. It has passed 1.3 million views. She has since grown a YouTube channel to 15,600 followers, has songs on Spotify and Apple Music, and now earns income from her AI-created content.

Errol Francis

Errol came to the certification looking for a way to generate income between gigs as a working musician. He already had the creative skill. What he gained was something local businesses would pay for. Within three months of certifying, he had revived his business producing AI video ads for companies across Toronto and crossed five figures.

Jai Stone

Jai was already running a successful agency when she entered the program. She closed two six-figure contracts before the class was over, and the same client returned with additional work. Her agency now builds AI brand personas for companies running national ad campaigns.

Jai Stone  /  Brand Strategist and AI Agency Owner

Aretha Bailey

After 18 years in the classroom, Aretha brought her instructional training into AI education. With the support of IIAII, she now teaches AI to students ages 10 to 16, and reaches adult learners through a partner network of more than 1,100 congregations nationwide. She has trained more than 500 students since certifying.

Ways to give

Fund a learner, not an overhead line.

Make it recurring. Recurring gifts are what let us schedule cohorts a year out instead of a month out.

Partner with us

We work with foundations, corporate giving programs, school districts, workforce boards, senior organizations, churches, and congregations. Device donations and site hosting matter as much as funding.

IIAII Foundation builds for the long term through grant funding, earned-revenue training partnerships, in-kind technology support, and a growing base of certified graduates who become mentors and ambassadors. Each cohort strengthens the next.

A laptop going into a learner's hands

With this support, IIAII Foundation will move more people from the margins of the AI economy into its center.

Every age is an entry point
